Description

You are invited to join us for the incredible opportunity to have a conversation with three amazing organizations that are using innovative ideas to address persisting, social issues within their communities (in Lima, Peru; Chennai, India; and Chicago, Illinois). These faith-based, “unsung heroes” were selected through a confidential, global search conducted through UP channels. From a pool of inspirational nominees, our Opus Prize Jury selected these three finalists. Last spring, UP students and faculty traveled to the communities of these three finalists for personal encounters and to witness first-hand the remarkable work of these humanitarians.

Arrive when you can and leave when you must, we will have some members of these delegations present at all times during this 11:30am - 1:30pm window and will have a brief 15 minute program around 12:30 pm. Lunch will be served!

The three finalists are in Portland for our Opus Prize Week celebrations that will culminate in the Thursday, 15 November Opus Prize Awards Ceremony and the announcement that one of these three will receive a gift of $1 million, while the other two will each receive awards of $100,000.

Details can be found at www.up.edu/opusprize, including the journeys of our UP Opus Prize Student and Faculty Ambassadors.
